Embracing all the colors.

These are portraits I made nearly 20 years ago of a Nashville woman and Nursing student Juliette Fisher (Now Juliette Fisher Allen). They are  shot on color print film. When considering how to finish the latent images, I decided to cross process them. Simply put, cross processing is developing film in a chemistry process not recommended for the type of film you used. In this instance I photographed Juliette with Fujicolor print film and processed in chemistry made for developing color slide film. You truly never know exactly what the result is going to be. However you can usually count on images that have vibrant and unique colors, however you risk that the skin tones may be washed out or muddy. Luckily I kept some great texture in the skin tones and keep some deep, different, rich colors. Similar effects can be achieved in Photoshop, but its definitely more fun to try it the old fashioned way. The downside is that you can't just hit the revert button of you wanna go back to the "real" image
